

Affordable Housing for Low-Income Families Across Punjab
The Chief Minister of Punjab has launched a visionary housing initiative titled “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” (ACAG) Program, designed to bring the dream of homeownership within reach of low-income families across the province.
This ambitious program aims to deliver 100,000 affordable houses and apartments to deserving residents in both rural and urban areas of Punjab — marking a major milestone in the province’s housing and social welfare landscape.
Purpose of the Program
The “Apni Chhat Apna Ghar” initiative is a lifeline for those living in rented houses or informal settlements, enabling them to own a safe, affordable home. The program emphasizes dignified living, social stability, and economic empowerment by facilitating home construction and ownership opportunities for financially constrained citizens.
Execution & Scale
Over a period of four and a half years, 100,000 houses will be built through three execution models under the supervision of Punjab Housing and Town Planning Agency (PHATA).
The housing units are strategically distributed across various districts to ensure equal opportunity and accessibility for applicants from all regions, including North, Central, and South Punjab.
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must meet the following requirements:

Must be a permanent resident of Punjab as per CNIC.

Must own land up to 5 Marla in urban areas or 10 Marla in rural areas where they intend to construct their home.

Must have no criminal record or involvement in anti-state or anti-social activities.

Must not be a loan defaulter of any financial institution or bank.
Expected Outcomes of the Program

Early Payment Incentive
To encourage early repayment, borrowers will receive rebates on outstanding loan amounts:

This incentive provides an additional financial benefit to those who can settle their loans ahead of time.
